[Hello again. I would like to thank everyone for their warm welcomes, and I am very sorry I have not been posting a lot, though I know I have to be active to stay on. I felt I should start venturing out and continuing other stories, as Heather... I'm sorry, Cherlynn had been urging me to do. So, this is for you, Hea- Cherlynn.

This part focuses on Rick's point of view, though it will still be in third person narrative.]

"Sure," she smiled. "Friends."

Rick chuckled, still holding his hand out. "Why the flustered look? I just asked to be your friend."

Ruri's eyes widened, and she smacked herself after a bit of consideration. She stammered a weak apology, and stared at the teacher, not daring to tilt her head just a centimeter to her left. Rick took his seat, spilling his books onto his table without a care. When you are a centuries-old vampire, he reasoned, you do not have any need for this... school.

He propped his head on his arm, holding his gaze stiffly in Ruri's direction. The only daughter of his sworn enemies. She would make a lovely hostage. Or perhaps even his, dare he think it? His bride. The vampire smiled to himself. Such a beautiful face. It would be a pity to waste it, that luscious ebony hair, that naive stare in her dark eyes. Yes, she would make a wonderful vampire.

And that pale, porcelain skin, just barely concealing the rivers of Life that flow within her. Life that he, as one of the undead, will never again have. Soon, if all goes to plan, he will be able to take hers away as well, and bring revenge upon that wretched Yamato family. To sink his fangs into her neck, and drain her of her Life, drink her sweet, succulent Slayer blood, all he needs is a little time. Just a little...

"Mister Masters!" Miss Sara barked. "I understand the captivating beauty of our lovely Missus Ruri, but please pay attention to the class! And please, wipe that drool off your face."

Rick put a hand to his mouth. It had not occurred to him that his canines would have grown. All around, the students laughed at his humiliation. He stared at the teacher, who was looking down expectantly. "Well?" She said.

"Well, what?" Stay calm, Rick. "Is there a problem?"

There is no problem. He told her. There is no problem. Miss Sara stared blankly back at him, but still holding contact. A second, two seconds passed as she stood like a wax model, still unable to tear her eyes away from this strange lad. The cheers were slowly dwindling down now, giving way to fearful whispers.

"There. Is. No. Problem." Rick whispered. There is no problem.

Then, Miss Sara blinked. She straightened herself with a swift motion, holding her forehead. "Right," she said, though with a confused look, "Just. Pay attention to the lesson, okay?" Rick smirked as she walked back to the front of the class, which had already resumed its usual natter.

He glanced at Ruri, still reluctant to turn in any direction. Just you wait, my sweet.
