As John Smith flew further into the night, he could not help but be plagued by his horrific actions. Just what in the world had possessed him to do such incredulous things? He pressed on in the darkness, trying to forget the events.
In a small corner of a street not far away from where John found him, Erik reappeared underneath a flickering street lamp. Mysteriously enough, his drag clothes had disappeared, replaced with a casual shirt and jeans. Erik stared hard at the sky, as though he could see John flying about.
Of course, he couldn't. He was just a mere human, after all.
But not just any human, for Erik just so happened to be a direct descendant of John Smith himself. His great-great-great-grandson, to be exact. And somewhere along the way, a little bit of magic had been introduced into the great Smith family. Occasionally, a Smith child is born with the ability to manoeuvre between the cracks of reality. The power of teleportation.
Erik held his head in his hand, leaning against the faulty lamp post. He had heard all about his great-great-great-grandfather, who had allegedly been kidnapped and made into a vampire long before he was born, and never seen again. He had also been taught in the ways of vampire hunting, for his family was a family of vampire hunters. By failing in his task, Erik's great-great-great-grandfather, John Benedict Smith, had betrayed the entire family.
Erik had been standing out for weeks, waiting for his old ancestor to come, knowing of his fondness for beautiful women. But when he finally saw the vampire, Erik did not know what to do. His stake lay useless in his handbag, untouched.
For John Smith had looked way, way younger than Erik had envisioned: the pale, unmarked face of a man barely past his twenties. Too young, Erik thought. He looks so much younger than me.
Erik teleported to his soft bed at home, falling onto the sheets with heavy thoughts in his head.
How can he possibly kill his only remaining relative?
